Aging stinks! Does the way you look on the outside match how you feel on the inside?
I feel young inside. I remember high school like it was last year (it clearly wasn’t). I shake my head when I think about the crazy diets I tried.
If only I could have that body back right now!
On the inside, I feel like I could turn cartwheels on the lawn (probably not a good idea). I feel like, if I peeked into the mirror, I would see a young, unlined face (depends who’s standing behind me). I feel like I could slip into my bright blue, corduroy OP shorts, tuck in a shirt and zip them up with room to spare (enough said)! Aging really stinks!
Is this what “young at heart” means – your outside ages but your inside doesn’t? I don’t like it. At. All.
I will tell you a secret. I have never “updated” the weight on my license. It still proudly displays my weight at 16. For many years, my “present” weight was not in the ballpark of my fantasy “license” weight. Luckily no one called me on it. How embarrassing would that be?
But then, in the course of becoming a certified health coach, I changed my way of eating and I lost weight until I was in the “license” weight ballpark (give or take 7 pounds).
What is the plan? The best part about my new dietary regimen is that I eat a LOT OF FOOD! Seriously, I eat a high volume of food every day. I am full and I am satisfied when I finish a meal. No hunger! No calorie counting! I have also learned ways to stoke the metabolic fire to burn more calories.
